It gives good advice. I already knew some about seizures caused by fever.
ReplyDeleteIn my highshool we have an epileptic girl. Fortunately, she hasn´t had a seizure yet in my class, but if it happen, a know what to do whith this advice.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you both find it useful, guys!
ReplyDeleteSo have we in my school. Depending on the period, she has a seizure a day... and that's a problem because most people and most teachers don't know what to do. This video is simple and clear. And now, I know what I usually do when she needs help is enough. I had some wrong ideas about the danger of swallowing your tongue while you are unconscious and I felt bad because I didn´t put something in her mouth. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the vocabulary file you told us you were going to put on the blog. Where is it?
ReplyDeleteI couldn´t find the questions about first aids.
ReplyDeleteIsabel
It took me a long time to find them. Question number 1, under the seizure video; from 2 to 6, after the questions of Steve Jobs´s video.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Josefa María!
ReplyDeleteNeither I found the questions and I was thinking I was going blind.
I'm afraid I'm getting a bit hypochondriac with this subject!
For me the most interesting thing in the videos is the first-aid tips to know what to do, how to react if we see someone having epilectic seazure. But the information about number of people treated for epilepsy or the scientific explanation about types of seizures, all that, to be honest,I think is not very helpful.
ReplyDeleteHi everybody!
ReplyDeleteSorry some of you couldn't find the questions, I think I mentioned it in class plus I wrote a brief note underneath the video saying it was under "homework"...Next time I'll make sure you all get it...
Charo, my apologies for driving you crazy, I hadn't posted the glossary yet, I just did, and it is in DICTIONARIES (last page). Hope it's useful!
Josefa María, I understand what you say about the interesting and non so interesting parts of the video...In any case, it's never bad to know a little bit about statistics and other details that of course aren't a "Life and Death Matter." Don't you think? :)
It's great how you all communicate here, asking and solving things with one another...Love it! I think we need a forum! :)
See you in class,
Inma.
NOTE: I just noticed something I want you to be aware of:
ReplyDeleteOn my previous post, on the second paragraph, after mentioning DICTIONARIES, I finished it by saying " Hope it's useful" Can you see it?
Ok. Well, it looks like "useful" is written with double " L ", BUT IT ISN'T. It's the way it looks like with THIS FONT (I'm thinking of changing it, actually). Every time I write an exclamation mark ( ! ) it looks like an "i" or a lower case "L". So really what I wrote is " useful ! ", but I should have separated the exclamation mark from the final "L" (like I just did now).
Sorry if it sounds a bit odd what I'm saying but I needed to make this clear. I don't like spelling mistakes/misunderstanding/whatever the case may be, on public posts even less when the one who's writing is the teacher...
Cheers! :)
hey!! i've got a First Aid Training for work tomorrow, I've never done anything like this before. it lasts three days apparantly and there's lots of scenarios. is this true? will i have to do any revision??
